I stopped by and looked at it yesterday. Going out today and split some of it down so I can get it into my trailer. It's from a couple of big oaks that were near the house that they took down. More pics to come...
So I went over today and took the spliter and knocked down the big rounds so I could load them. Got what I thought was a decent load knocked down and went and got my trailer. Got it loaded and home. Owners of the wood texted me and said that their neighbor wanted some wood and they told them they could have it. So I ended up loosing out on about a little less then half of what was there in the pic I posted yesterday. Most of the stuff I had left was bucked down on angles that wouldn't split right in my spliter. Here is a pic of the load I got today. I'm still happy, AND I have a chance at the motherload oak hoard, which I will post in another thread.
That’s reason enough to load as you process. Whether it’s cutting and/or splitting, get that stuff loaded up before someone else comes along or before the owner changes his/her mind.
Got 2/3 of a cord finished split and stacked this afternoon. Still some in the trailer. Don't think I'm going to get a full cord out of it, but it will be close.
