I was at the back of my property pulling out a honey locust and saw this ash on my neighbors property. 20” bar on my saw for reference. 4 trunks, there is a lot of wood there. I hope he lets me have it. There’s a seasons worth of wood there.
No he don’t burn but he has a tenant that does. From what I’ve seen they don’t mess with anything with some size. There’s enough that they can have the tops. I’d take the trunk. I’ve never cut on him but I’ll see what he says.
Yes EAB got it. I haven’t seen a green leaf on a ash here in 3 years. 2 of the trunks are going to fall into his field so hoping he will say yes
Hope your neighbor lets you cut that. Iv'e never seen ash grow like that with 4 trunks that big. and iv'e seen plenty. as sarge would say.

I’m almost ashamed as a hoarder that I didn’t know it was there till today. I know where every dead ash is on my 25 mile route to work. This behemoth is 100 feet from my property line.
well 100' from the line Slocum and it could be easy to miss. The four look to be "not that dead" based on most ive seen. The bark seems to be holding on. I have a couple medium ashes to fell this week, i will post pics. Funny how us "tree people" notice them in out travels.
Those grew out of a stump from a teee that was felled a loooong time ago. Check out the base to get an idea of how huge the original was.
That is beautiful! If they were on my land you'd have a hard time getting them. Talk about a sweet setup for deer hunting!!! But, if they are dead or dieing, well, that is sad.
