Here is a portion of my setup. There is a 150 yard easement that goes into my property. My wife has nicknamed at firewood lane. She also likes round wood piles. So I have round wood piles... The lab is the only hound that would sit for a picture, my two beagles were giving some of the local cottontail rabbit population a little exercise this morning. IMG_20190331_103855.jpg

Nice stacks. How well do they season like that?

Honestly, I can't tell if they season better or worse. I will say that they are stable and you can get a quite a bit of wood in a small area but whether or not there is a huge benefit I don't know. I'm sure that if you stacked and rows with air flowing all around it, it would season faster. But all of those stacks get at least two years, and if they have oak they get three. whether or not it's slower or faster, it gets done in that amount of time. I will say that they are nice if you're dealing with any kind of uneven ground.
