    We found one out west one time and was really close. They are much like a whip poor will; same family at least.

    Looking up the night hawk, I could readily second this

    Dunno if juveniles have the white bars on the wings, but that would complete the identification if it had the bars.

    Did you happen to notice any on the wings Well Seasoned

    When I had the big house in the woods, the back wall of the great room was glass, we had many birds, owls fly into them. I felt bad, added curtains and sun shades and it slowed down.
