That was my first thought too. But, I'm no expert so take my opinion for what it's worth - $.02

 

When I had the big house in the woods, the back wall of the great room was glass, we had many birds, owls fly into them. I felt bad, added curtains and sun shades and it slowed down.

 

Look at the eyes and the tail. That is not a nighthawk or whippoorwill.
