Went back up to the wood cutting area today, only, took the grandson, he's in the 8th grade. He's learning the correct way to split wood, then, i got him on the 261 with me backing him up, and talking him through it, and, with the tundra in 1st gear, 4 wheel low range, and a nice load of wood on, i let him work on his driving skills. He's a great kid, and eager for things that do with the outdoors. And, he's sharp, full of common sense, the logging road we were on was behind a locked gate, and good ground, and, fairly flat, no one was up there with us, and we just took our time all the way around. I told him he could be my wood cutting buddy if he wants to. Had a super great time with him, plan on doing more of it. Just so he won't be spoiled i told him i also cut wood in the rain, lol. He's game for it, ha,ha. It was perfect wood cutting weather, a little cool, but, clear, and the time of day we went up, get this, we were IN THE SHADE!! I'll mark that one down for sure, normally i'm in a clear cut, with the sun all day long.
