My neighbor caught this tagged fish for $100 prize money and $15 worth of pulls on the slot machines. Not bad for a morning of fishing!
was a sunny 32 but felt much nicer. With the snow we got last night seemed like a good day to burn the brush/trash pile that’s been growing for about 3 years. Chunks of bark, splitter trash,& punky logs mostly
Got to do some brush and bark burning here, too. With all the pine processing, I've got more than we'll ever use for mulch.. And will always make more! Let the stove go cold last night so I could clean the cat this morning - 62 downstairs at 6am. Cat cleaning was a quick job, so I was able to relight with some ash and nice dry pine and get the place warmed up quick for the girls in time for breakfast! Cat lit off like brand new, very pleased with the results. That fire has had us at 74 all day, even though I had it running hard to start off. Sun came out and have us 60 for a little while this afternoon! Got some splits cut down to size and brought in, and stomped around in the mud for a while with mini-me.
Rained all day. Temperature dropped a few degrees and we got snow about an hour before sundown. Everyone on Facebook is hopping mad. Topping off the boiler at halftime of the Purdue game, then settling in. Sunshine predicted tomorrow.
It has been rainy, cool and damp all day here. Misting now at about 30 degrees. Maple, Ash, and some Rice Coal in the boiler.
Mid 50’s and sunny, snow in the full sun is gone and in the shade is going fast. We are at overnight fires only.
25 here, ash and cherry burning. I’m going to try and skid a couple logs out this morning since there’s a little frozen crust on the ground.
We still haven’t gotten warm enough to let the stove go out, but it’s getting into the 40’s with some rain so the snow is going down pretty well finally. The coming week looks a bit warmer but without much sun so we’ll see. If it stays windy it still won’t feel that great. Helps dry things up though.
Well it's getting better back home. But this will still be a shock. From this... To this We're leaving florida at the right time. Rain in coming in. The 60° weather is going to arrive back home. We'll of course have a few fires when we get back.
Weather is still pretty decent for the most part, last night was only a few degrees below freezing. It won't warm up much above freezing today but no matter, it's still not bad. Nice to be out of the 24/7 burn cycle though and do the start up in evening, and 3-4 sticks in the morning off of coals and walk away.
27° and it should warm up to 64° today and back to more rain for next week. 67° inside from last nights burn, don't think I'll fire the stove up until this evening.
Feeling like winter again down south! Wind chill in the 30’s, that’s cold here For this time of the year! Burning some dead stand poplar I split last week
