    After splitting this will go directly into the wood shed.
    Moisture on outside was 18% and 33% in a fresh split. [​IMG][​IMG]

    Reloader, seems like you do half the hoarding on this forum! Just curious, what's driving you? Saving the downed wood from rotting? Getting on the three-year plan? Do you heat entirely with wood?

    That moisture difference is not surprising but it will dry after splitting. I hope it is not too far gone.

    A combination of the above. Trying to salvage as much of this as possible. I enjoy processing firewood and it is a good workout for an old guy.

    I’m well ahead of the three year plan at this point but am able to sell some to recoup some of the money I spend on my firewood toys. A lot of this wood is on the edge of being too far gone, but we have no issue burning it once it is dry. Just burns fast and hot.

    When I sell it I am very honest about the condition of the wood and let it go for what I believe is a fair price. I sold most of it in the last couple of months to people just looking for something to finish out the Winter.
