Yesterday afternoon it got to 70 I think. This morning was 36 when I got up. No fire in the house last night, was a tad cooler than normal. There will be a fire tonight. Coworker had the stove going good when I got to work. Felt good. Burning ash at work
I think it's safe to say we're stuck in average weather now in Sask for the most part, with a few overnight temps lower than average here and there. Still pretty decent though. Currently -5 c or 24 f and should see upwards of +6 c or 43 f later. Stove doesn't draft worth a darn in these mild temps so it can be a bit of a challenge, but then again it doesn't take much heat to keep the shack warm in these temps either.
Couple more degrees and we'll be at our high of 49. Tonight should see 23-24 until Accuweather changes it again. A bit of sun too, but we still have quite a bit of snow and enough ice that my wife appropriated my ice cleats.
40° Wet snow made it fun driving over the mountain pass @ 1:30 am and more for tonight.....Burning Pinion Pine.
High of 41.. The snow is melting The mud is deepening.. Still 78 inside gonna have to use a match tonight in stove.
32 wet damp rainy.. Threw on 4 pines splits. More for dampness then cold. Easier to burn pine than re light.
Temperature has been falling here since last evening. Still 40 though. Wife just lit a fire to take the chill off. It is sunny outside so a nice day. Weather is going downhill for a couple of days though with rain and snow to move in.
33 this morning with some snow, they say we could be in for 3-5”. Elm in the stove at home. Ash at work.
40 and soggy here. No wind, so that's nice. 74 inside still from Mrs Papi's 10 am load. Guess my 5am load didn't last long - white pine. Think my cat needs a bath, too. Seems to need a bit more temp to get cranking lately. That'll be on tomorrow's agenda!
37 and wet outside but 76 and nice and dry in here. It’s a wet dreary weekend but it’s helping to melt the snow. Hoping for an April warmup.
30 with 5 inches of fresh snow, would have been more but earlier in the day yesterday it melted as fast as it fell. Elm in the stove at home. Not sure if I’ll light the stove at work
These pics are about two weeks apart. You can see the snow loss and thawing occurring! The second pic was taken on this week on Thu morning.
64° here, mostly clouds but some filtered sun. Just a morning fire. I did some stacking, some raking, and my husband cut a little cedar and apple that was lying around, and cleaned and sharpened both saws! Woohoo! Nothing to scrounge at the dump though. It was madhouse, with everyone dropping off their pine branches. I much prefer the weekdays.
