Pretty paint on those pallets, Pete. Please, where does a person find such perfect pallets?

That'll work much better than trimming them in the stove!

Here's a pallet chicken coop I built. It all pallet material except the corner posts, floor joists and the roof. I have made 3 of these so far. I thought you might enjoy this.

Gas your not stealing my thread this is why I put it up ! I like inspiring others to be creative my friend it's a good feeling. As for the roof that's one area I don't skimp on. The roof materials for framing can be sourced out at places like habitat for humanity resale shops. ( I am addicted to that place ) you can find all kinds of building materials cheap there.

Ugh.? Closest one of those to me is 2 hours away in Syracuse. No deal there. I can get Amish lumber though. There are some saw mills around.

All the skids (pallets) up here are air nailed, which makes disassembly tedious at best. What's your secret Pete?

Same here Steve. I used a hammer and a flat bar with a hooked end and simply whacked where the nails where. Anything that was left over was cut with the grinder to remove them.

Around here they used to burn used pallets in an open fire on the trucking company property as it wasn't worth sending the pallets back down to a bigger center. Burning laws put an end to that. It is a real shame that more people don't put them to use especially as most of the freight trucks going back down to Vancouver go empty.
