Great pics Rope & Well Seasoned , thank you! Glad your family trip went so well Tom. 35F here dropping to 20 tonight. Snow's pretty well gone & the ground is getting better. Rain snow slop mix predicted from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, that's gonna put a crimp in firewooding. Just picked up two more cutting jobs from tree guys too. Oak uglies in the boiler.

We seem to be quickly moving towards spring, not much snow left.

Yesterday got to 50° but today will be cooler, 40° with a wind. I raked yesterday, maybe I'll split today. Still burning shorts and scraps, the oak that's left in the basement, and some red maple I brought in.

18 and 76 here, getting ready to reload for the 40 degree day ahead. Temperature got close to 50 briefly yesterday afternoon but the wind never let up and the chill factor stayed in the 30’s. Supposed to be about 40 today, a little warmer tomorrow, and 50’s with showers later in the week so a little taste of spring.

Another night of mild overnight temps, currently sitting at -3 c or 27 f. We should see more above average weather later, and keep chasing all that snow away. Ugly chunks of poplar feeding the machine.

Your spring and fall seasons are pretty short up there, yes? Mostly just summer and winter ?

One has to search for any remaining ice here as most is gone. Hooray! Not much standing water either which is odd for this time of the year. Maybe a further sign of a dry year. If we don't get too much rain we might be able to get some garden work done soon.

Just barely made it into double digits this morning. 10.

Sun for much of the day so far. Lots of snow, lots of ice. still people fishing on the ice and some shacks left to be hauled off.

Went for a walk just now and saw 2 Canada geese near an open river...……. walking on the snowpack muttering to themselves!

I think I heard her telling him "You just had to leave early...get the best nesting site you said.... Did it ever occur to you that we need to eat something too?"

I was surprised earlier when I went down the road with atv and suddenly heard this loud call that I have not heard for a long, long time. Frogs! Only in one place but if one place there should be plenty out hollering tomorrow.

Old saying is that the frogs have to be froze 6 times and that usually holds true. First should happen tonight with 24 forecast. It is 41 out there now with bright sunshine.

We have 2 seasons here, winter and roadwork. This morning it was 17* @ 0430. The sun was warm later in the day, but cool in the 30's. It's now 25* and dropping with Boxelder and Hard Maple drying some more clothes on the rack. The ice is thinning on the lakes. Melting during the long days, and refreezing less and less in the shortening nights.

19 and supposed to be about 40 today without the wind we’ve had the last several days so it might finally feel like it. 77 inside still on coals. It’s going to warm up and rain of course over the next several days starting tomorrow but just showers so hopefully no flooding. Still a lot of snow pack to melt.
