Thanks Chaz, about equal amounts of red and white oak with a little bit of hickory...I want to split it first thing in the morning and head back to the log yard, but then there’s work :headbang: Gonna have to go Backwoods Savage style on some of it but no milk crate or cushion... some 20 +” inchers in there :deadhorse:

Well, I also split vertically, have a cushion & a round to put it on.

Wheel/roll the rounds in from the left, splits go out the right.

    To each their own.

Really? Does leaving alone equate to stirring up the pot in Vermont by chance, Canadian border VT ? Everyone knows that splitting horizontally is the best physically rewarding and most ergonomic way to split wood. It is also more efficient if splitting in your stacking area, turn and stack, not pile then move the pile. Exception being lifting rounds in excess of your ability. Otherwise, its a matter of choice. I am not a doctor, I do not play one on TV. :smoke:

My splitter is horizontal only until I upgrade.. So there that..

Ashwatcher leaving alone. I swim in the estrogen ocean.. Wife, daughter, Dog all female.. Mother in law kind of a national guard program few long weekends a month few weeks a year.

My daughters sleep over parties are legendary in town, 4 weekends a year 8 to 12 extras (girls only) basically I go play in woods with my :tractor:.. And:axe:

But I do NOT have enough years on me to tell my good friend Dennis he might not be right 100% of the time.. I leave that to his beautiful bride:handshake:

 :rofl: :rofl:  Canadian border VT Its all becoming more clear now—-You’re adaptable and evasive on issues you know well enough to leave alone—Not saying that Sir Backwoods Savage is ever wrong 100% of the time either, that is the ornery ones job I agree. Let’s just say once in a blue moon he may be mistaken? You stay neutral my friend, I literally spit soup out when I read your response  :rofl: :rofl:

Shoot, I'm wrong most of the time, or so says some. And the Ornery one is now sputtering and wondering how she got dragged into this.  But if she were to split wood, she would do it the right way so as to save her body...for me.

Who started it? Just peruse the most innocuous statement ever by a seasoned FHC veteran...All these years and in an epiphany just happens to ponder an age old question:whistle: That Canadian border VT is the one to keep an eye on and he brought in the Ornery One too. You guys are cracking me up. I love this place and trust this finds you all well and warm.
