Seems too good to be true but in my first year of burning I noticed a couple ads like this pop up in the early spring almost as if people were spring cleaning and not worried about firewood anymore? I got one scrounge from a lady who moved into a house that had "too much" firewood already so she just put it up on CL as part of her spring cleaning.
We have seen that one posted here 8n Eastern Washington as well. Story was “Mom sold the house and we don’t burn wood”. Obviously a fake ad. LG Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Yeah, ya gotta at least check it out...due diligence and all. My buddy scored a pile of free wood from his neighbor that lives in the woods, and loves to make firewood, but doesn't burn it...I guess he had a mountain of dry wood (some of it supposedly 20 years in the barn) that he needed gone so he could make room for some new toy he bought...so he gave it to my buddy for free if he came and picked it up! Once that area was cleaned out, there was plenty more good dry wood, but not for free...he had to start paying $10 per truckload!
I'd do it now...most people have facebook open on their phones 24/7...I inquired about something on marketplace a while back...it was like 10:30 or 11 at night...the guy answered me back within minutes (sold...rats!)
Yeah, no kidding! Oh, I forgot the best part...icing on the cake...the old guy gave him a perfectly good Stihl 044 too!
Well...my buddy just bought this house, so he had no wood stocked up, but it has a wood furnace, so he wanted to use it whenever it was cold out (LP furnace)...he has been running on the neighbors wood stash all winter...couple months for free...then $10 a load since...
