Sorry for your loss! It would be great if you could take in the pup from your daughter, although would totally understand if it is too soon.

    Thanks all for the condolences.
My 92 year old mother is taking it very hard. Every morning or afternoon when mom would get up the normal routine was: Mom would take her sugar. Have her bowl of cereal with fruit and juice. Then it was time to fix mom's coffee and toast. Mom and the dog would share the toast.

I did like the dog although I would say "I just sort of like you you little SOB" and then pick her up for some lap time." Sure hope she didn't know what I was truly saying.
How the passing went was a traumatic for the family and feel deeply for my grandson.
My grandson came over with their new fostered Black Lab.

My son was working as a Medic and when got a call from the sheriff's office. Along with having to treat a human, there was a black lab that the low life had stabbed 9 times. My son told the deputy that he wanted the dog. He had to wait until the dog was released from the Vet until he could take it home. now he is waiting on the court hearing before it can become his.
Lexie was barking and making runs at the Lab. The Lab grabbed Lexie and then all h**l broke loose. The Lab had Lexie in it's mouth like retrieving a bird. I hollered "Release" and the Lab immediately dropped Lexie.
Lexie had been coughing and it has been getting worse lately. She had a vet appointment for Tues. We have had another Chihuahua that had similar problems and the Vet said heart failure. He passed the next
day. I believe that Lexie died from a heart attack exuberated by the attack. There was one puncture wound behind the rib cage. I don't believe that she could of died within 2 minutes from depth and where the wound was.

I sure hope that it doesn't get out and the Lab gets put down when the court hearing comes up. I truly believe it wasn't the Labs fault.

That is one thing I am worried about. Our daughter got our grandson a Black Lab 2 months ago. She got the Yorkie last week. Her lab wants to play with the Yorkie. She is a little worried after this incident.
She is going to discuss it with her husband.

Sounds like a very very unfortunate accident. Like a canine miscommunication. I'm really sorry everyone was witness to it. I had a traumatic one in 2004, I still remember it but it does not hurt like it did in the beginning.

When I woke up this morning, the pond was cover halfway with ice. By this evening, 90% was open water, we will have ice out by Monday. 3 days from 100% coverage to none.

Really sorry to read about your situation, it sucks to lose a family member like that.
A Yorkie and a Lab? That actually sounds like a bunch of frenetic energy that would be fun to watch- if supervised.
My folks Yorkie was a pit-bull in disguise, and my Lab had her inner-puppy resurface in his presence. They got along great, but they were both older at that time.

Sun is up, I’m getting fuel mixed for the saw and batteries charged in the work tunes.
We had 3 cord of logs delivered this week and today is going to be perfect to get going on it. Bluebird sky, temps in the 50’s, and no bugs!
Delmonico steaks defrosting and some brews chilling for after.
    Have a great Sunday hoarders!

I have a easy day lined up, sitting in the recliner watching TV , Just got back home after a Hip resurface, so I'll be down for a week or two. The neighbor just dropped a nice size maple and what a great neighbor he put all the wood by my pile for me , guess I will have to look at it for a while . :axe:
