Wow, all for you? Did you agree to take it all? That could be a whole winter's worth of wood. For free? That never happens around where I live. lucky-duck.jpg

Wow! Nice score. Craigslist around here has been really stingy lately. I did make contact with a neighbor up the road who’s having a big silver maple taken down soon so hope to get some of that.

That splitter is cool, never saw that before. Looks like you could bang through a lot of straight wood pretty quickly. Have you got into and knotty gnarly pieces with it?

So, just drive in, cut the cream of the crop, pile up the branches to burn and skeedaddle ?
    Tough to beat that setup.

Ya have gotten some punky pieces crooked pieces and just work the edge on them and work way towards middle.
Haven't came across any piece I couldn't split yet.
And that pile of splits was done in time my wife ran up the road to Dollar store and back did all that in about 20mins

That Cherry would of gone for a saw log at my place, Cherry is the most desirable wood that I have at my place.
Anything over 9" on the small end of the log goes for lumber.

But everyone has different priorities and I hope it warms you on a winters night.:salute:

Makes one wonder why he cut all the trees. Some rough cutting there too.

image.jpg Just finished up loading a nice few logs of hickory. Temps are starting to get out of the below freezing range, now the “please take it” posts are popping up on CraigsList. It was nice and clean, and I’m glad to have it. Next stop, the splitter and the stacks. See you in 2 winters, my friends!

I like the ads like this where they just want you to cut and haul away at your leisure. Mainly because you can cut to whatever length you want, no awkwardly short pieces like are very often what's up for grabs on craigslist.
