Never did get to TSC to pick up some AWF WP's.......... Got nixed cause they are only selling by the bag. Might get a half dozen this week depending on weather and activities....... Trying to get all my inside chit done. I wanna be ready if we get warm quicker than usual. But Me thinks that rodent lied!!
I wasn't looking for pellets but 40 lbs. bags of anthracite coal. We have a March arctic-blast going to hit us this week and I wanted to pick up a half ton. Need to make sure I have enough to finish this season and start next year. Went to my usual dealer and he could let me have a "bag or two" to hold me over. He was very low on stock and needed what he had for his commercial (read "coal fired pizza") customers. He said there is no shortage of product, his order is paid for and loaded on a trailer at the mine. He is just having a hard time getting a trucker to haul it up here. They are all booked solid & with the messy weather, running behind schedule. Sounds like the same story as a lot of the small pellet places around here. KaptJaq
Funny, I know that TV station and the towns the showed - I'm originally from KS. Just weird to think of people out there burning wood pellets since Kansas is not known for its forests.
What TSC sells around here when they finally run out of MWP's Went ahead and picked up what I believe are their last 15 bags. Don't "need" pellets, but since they are cheaper at TSC than at Aubuchon, and I've never tried them before, I decided to go for it. Plus I got an email saing I needed to spend a few more $ in order to qualify for their next 10% off coupon coming out next month. Not expecting anything spectacular out of them - as long as they throw a bit of heat, I'm a happy camper. Ash I can deal with.
I had forgotten that they have several different blends. Yes, they are the NE blend I opened a bag to fill up the P61a since I had covered up the remaining TSC MWP's. I liked the smell of them anyway . I've had some pellets that didn't even smell like any kind of wood, so that is a plus. Ash I can handle. I usually end up emptying the ash pans every 2 weeks as weather permits (not too windy, not raining, not snowy), so we'll see. Still have about 2 bags in the hopper of the TSC's, and am sure I will notice the difference in ash once the GS hits - the TSC have been somewhat ashy but it blows out of the pot so I don't get much of a mustache.
