Beautiful sunshine here. We're finally getting sun more often and it seems really nice as we don't see it much in the winter here. Temperature supposed to get to high 30's. Should be in high 40's by Wednesday and 50 by next weekend.

Weather is nothing short of awesome around here this last week. I think we've been batted around so long here that even normal weather feels great! The suns been out, the snow is melting, winds haven't been consistently high either. Yesterday hit about +5 c or 40 f so we had some hotdogs over a fire for supper. No clue where the fire pit is (buried in a snowdrift in the yard) so I shoveled an area and made the fire on the ground. Couple hours later we were going inside, and it occurred to me that I hadn't put wood in the stove since late morning, so I grabbed a pail of ashes out of the stove to dump outside, and then grabbed a pail of coals from the fire and dumped them in the stove! Had a fire going in less than four minutes. Still trying to figure out if I'm lazy or smart. :rofl:  It dropped to around -10 c or 14 ish f last night, but it's supposed to walk up to around +5 c or 40 f later. It's about 20 f at the moment.

18 and 77 here this morning and the sun is shining. It’s supposed to be in the 30’s this week so below normal, but no big storms at least so the snow and ice should continue to melt at a nice slow pace. Just reloaded with a mix of KD, beech, and bricks. Momma’s in the office today so we need to keep it around 80.

    OOps, I did it again.
Wood bins by the stove were empty so I topped them off. The stove was down to just a handful of coals so got that rip roaring again with a load of pine and maple.
Then checked the house temps. 74ºF
Should have let the stove go cold.
It's 41ºF outside but it doesn't feel that warm with a slight breeze, but the sun is strong today and there's good solar gain.
Was 20ºF outside this morning and we needed maple burning earlier.

Started the day with a temp of 7. Finally turned sunny this afternoon and hit the upper 30's.

Just right for a slow and gradual melt

Made 50 in the sun here today & very little wind. It was a nice day! Down to 20 again tonight, so it's been good. Frost coming out slowly, it could stay like this for a month & I'd be happy. Good outdoor weather. Oak in the boiler cause I'm out of everything else.
