    Others have used different fittings/hose.I did the early update(drilling holes,bottom of auger feeder tube,yet went ahead and did the hose kit,after I found out about it.Probably too much air coming through auger tube,but stove preforms very well,and i will probably never have to worry about auger squeal or carbon buildup,lol.The price on the kit,now,is insane,in my opinion.If you want to use the "brass sleeves",they are a very thin sleeve,with a lip,that is used to go inside plastic tubing,that is being used with a compression fitting,such as air brakes on a truck or bus.A local auto parts store may not have them,but a truck repair place will,and charge you a buck for 2.

    You are right on the price, i found 2 prices 1 for 29.00 plus 13.00 to ship and the other at 49.00
    seems like way to steep.
    Oh well will have to look at alternative materials
