The sun didn't break out of the clouds until this afternoon; even then-it didn't get to the mid 30's. Headed for the single digits tonight.
Topped out in the thirties with sun, but the wind made it less pleasant than it could have been outside. Got the week's wood cut to length and brought in, and called it a day. Looks like sugaring weather coming up this week as Savage mentioned - thirties and forties daytime with teens and twenties overnight.
With the flooding that is occurring on area rivers, the forecast for this coming week is great, warm during the day and below freezing at night. The Mississippi River has been rising fast and could be close to flood stage by the end of next week.
25F here, dropping to 20 they say. Was partly cloudy & 36 with a west wind. Little chilly, but not bad. Skidded Ash all day. Oak & Maple in the boiler.
Overcast and 24f here. We lost 18" of snowpack last week with all the rain. Spring is the way with low 50s and sunshine predicted for next weekend.
Peeked out at the thermometer and it is just under zero. Coming in with a reading of -1 this morning. Probably drop another notch or two before its done.
26 feels like 16 with the wind. Yesterday looked nice but the wind was brutal most of the day and it’s still blowing. We’re back to reality with below average temperatures all week, but at least no storms in sight. Great sugaring weather! Still 78 inside on coals.
About 12 degrees here this morning. Maple and a few splits of Oak, along with some wood pellets and a couple small shovels of rice coal in the Wood Gun this morning. Another little bit of snow fell last night. Maybe an inch.
27 here with light snow. Ash and cherry burning. Spring is near, bulbs are popping and saw some fresh buds on a few trees.
30*-70*.....41* today....burnin a little ash. Still helpin a long life friend do a remodelin job....then hes into flippin houses. Hopefully will be busy for good while..xtra money is nice. First in a long time i use brute force instead of my brain.. Not ignorin you all...super busy.
23 at 7am Took out a bucket of ashes after the reload and the sun was really warm on the back as I was walking back to house.Sure felt like spring . Only have a facecord in shed left and maybe half a facecord in wood room. May have to pull some from the heaphausen out back to get through the last burn at this place . Lived here close to 30 years and built everything from scratch. It's a strange feeling thinking about moving.
Doesn't look like you're to far behind us this year. Snow's about gone here, but a lot of frost in the ground.
Write up about the tornadoes that went through MI. Nothing really serious but I'll be some folks were scared. Sadly there were some homes destroyed. March 14, 2019 Tornado and Severe Weather Event
