That is the fancy scare tactic sensationalized whooptydo name they have on the news for the big storm in the middle of the country right now. I'm just curious what members are seeing from this storm and where you are.

A couple flakes and 30 mph wind. Supposedly I am right on the northern edge of the storm up here in central North Dakota. Curious to see what I will wake up to.

Here in East Texas there are no signs or affects of the "Bomb Cyclone". Temps here in the low 60's with lots of rain, Denver looks like it was hammered today!

If it wasn't for the wind, this would have been just a mild March dump. Snow was really heavy and wet but nothing unusual. I-70, I-25, and I-76 all suffered shutdowns so the state was at a standstill for a while. DIA wisely cancelled flights and shut down all 6 runways. I think they had gusts to 76mph there.
I'm about 30 miles West of Golden, had some wind but nothing major. 6" of snow at the most, didn't even bother to plow. Denver and the rest of the Front Range caught it worse than I did. It looked nasty out on the plains.

bombogenesis is basically a made up term and "explosive developments" happen on average 40 times a year
    it's all just pathetic hype
should we always be wary of developing weather ? absolutely

don't forget to click on the weather news a couple extra times today so they get some extra ad money !

They had that bomb cyclone bs for a storm here a few years ago. Nothing major. I've been out in far worse blizzards with much less hype.

I wonder if they are going to re-man the missile silos out west as a deterrent this bomb cyclone arms race?

Morning, it looks like it's mostly over here, moved to the east. I heard we got about a foot here but one can't tell because the wind drifted all it, today is digging out of the drifts.

Snowing and blowing in central Nebraska. Badder is flooding due to ice jams and heavy rains the last two days. Town I live in is gooder off but many towns around being evacuated. Never seen it this widespread in this area. I’ll see if I can post some pics or links

Talked to a son who lives in Fort Collins, CO. yesterday. It was snowing, wind was 40-60mph, with gust in the 70s. Up to 8" of snow.

Naw...............................the WIND CHILL makes it too cold to do anything. Pretty soon the outside thermometers will come with wind chill numbers instead of actual temperature numbers. Has something to do with the new math they are teaching the snow flake generation......................

Thankfully, it doesn't look like the mid-atlantic will see much more than a slight chance of rain showers and frozen mix.

Speaking of new math, did you see where one town or state wants to make pi as 3.2? Right. Wouldn't that throw a bunch of calculations to the wind...

Supposedly it is the fact that the barometer reading drops super fast and nothing more. But one would not understand that listening to the jerks on tv.
