Had to drive to Newark today to pick up some plumbing and I got this on the way back while checking out an industrial area. It was a fallen 12 ft long pole like oak branch and a smaller Norway maple branch. I has my wife's car so it was cut with the much slower and weaker Ryobe 40 volt. I only took pictures after I cut and got home. It's Newark and you don't want to be hanging out longer than necessary, plus it was just small 6 to 8 inch diameter stuff and was not exciting enough for pictures.

Yes, Camden is more scary than Newark which at least has a modest financial district, a commuter train to NYC, and a few colleges including a branch of Rutgers and a top rate engineering school NJIT. Camden has nothing but a struggling aquarium, unemployment, and derelict buildings filled with squatters. It's sad that it sank so low for so long now being right across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.

    *edit
Newark also has a respectable and pretty large Portuguese community in an area called the "Iron Bound district"

Her and i took a day trip to the mint in Philly...2008 i think. On the way back she was panicking as gas was almost on "E". She decides to get off first exit over BF bridge which was Camden, next thing you know we're in the ghetto area! Finally found one after several tense minutes behind locked doors! We joke about it often

Nice Craigslist score on the pallets Midwinter ! Never need to worry about rotting and They stack nicely for storage!

On way home today I drove thru my favorite cemetery and got an odd mixed bag, however it's a good one for burning right away. Green Norway Maple for next year, but also this large dry cedar stump and some dry ash for the next few nights.

That cedar makes great kindling... or a nice hot fire! I like your wedges, do you have just the two?

No, I have 6 of varying sizes, Two I bought 20 years ago and a the rest I bought at a garage sale a few years back. The big one is annoying due to it's blunt tip even after I ground it some... so I start with the sharper small one then assist with the big. I don't know why they sell so many models of wedges as well as mauls with blunt tips??? They are totally useless!

Yes, I have a couple of small sharp ones for starting a split, some 5 or 6 pounders for further efforts, and a massive 12 incher that is great for splitting big rounds, after a kerf has been sawed.
This is some of them, more acquired since the picture was taken. I used to split all of my wood that way, I didn't start using a splitting axe until Christmas 2017. IMG_20170811_29126.jpg
