    Is that to protect him in case the tire blows? Maybe someone can explain. There's nothing funny about safety. It's only funny when people aren't being safe.

    That's a safety cage for inflating truck tires. Tire goes in it, not the person. Mostly used for split rim wheels. When that locking ring doesn't stay put it can literally take someone's head off.

    Flashback, exploding tires kill people everyday. Worked at a truck stop repairing tires along the road at night and fueling trucks. Had a tire explode at the pumps and shattered one of the big plate glass windows at the restaraunt (old style where the trucker could eat while fueling and watch his rig). I also was blown across a shop from an exploding tire, no broken bones but sure was sore. Seeing that video is the first time I understand PTSD and what the vets must encounter on the 4th of July.

    Thanks guys. I knew a tire blowing could be deadly, I just didn't understand what was wrong in the picture.
