Just got the side mirrors that I ordered for Henry (99 F150 Lariat) yesterday, hoping to get them installed this week. $48 for the pair of electric mirrors. Just order in some chrome nerf bars to replace the rusted out (and cursed) running boards I removed a few weeks ago. Has anyone gotten parts like this off the bay?
I never have but Im sure there are good deals there. Im getting ready to head to a junkyard to get some parts for the daughters cavi soon.
We've got a grab n go that has really cheap prices, but there is a cover charge and a lot of times they don't have what I need.
I buy ebay parts all the time. Lets see--- new hitch, 2 new mirrors, Hub assemblies, brakes, shocks, EGR valve, Secondary air parts, oil filters, 02 sensors, mufflers…. on and on and on the list goes. We have saved thousands on parts and to be honest they have all worked just fine aside from the catalytic but we won't discuss that ugly day.
I suppose I already knew you did, Pete. It just slipped my mind. Anyway, the new nerf boards are scheduled to arrive on Friday, looking forward to checking them out, figuring out where they will mount, and whether or not I will be drilling and tapping when the running board bolts snapped off (a few did actually come out).
I buy many auto parts off ebay(ase master) but have to know what you are getting.Info is your friend.Generally the cheap mirrors are just that,may vibrate a little more that factory,but save a ton of money.Same for the replacement headlamp housings,cheaper plastic and lens.Most of this stuff is made in china.Kind of like the slow oil leak,do I fix it for $1500. or add a quart every three weeks.And a lot of the parts you get in the parts stores are the same parts,different label.Long as you are aware of this.I use the cheaper stuff all the time on my older trucks,but certain items I go for high quality.

I buy from local parts house unless I don't need it soon and its much cheaper online. With shipping though its often not.
I buy ebay parts a lot, but usually if it's an electrical part or hard to find part I order locally so I can slap it on the counter the next day and tell them they screwed up lol. If you are working on a Ford, I suggest www.broncograveyard.com. They don't have quite as much stuff for a newer truck like yours but still quite a bit, and quality stuff
