    I don’t get much mulberry. It kind of looks like slippery elm to me.

    I'll go with red elm too, it is not that bad to split compared to American elm.

    It could be mulberry that was cut a little while ago. You’ll know if it’s mulberry if a fresh cut or split is yellow inside
