Dennis, we had a forecast of up to 6" of snow for late Saturday into Sun., and this morning, it's gone. Poof.
Now, it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop expecting it to show back up.
Anyway, yep, nice sunny day today with temps warming starting tomorrow is a VERY welcome thing. Except for the ice that follows, then the mud. :hair:

Hoping my tree guys can't get on the road until mid-April or later so I can get busy on the logs before they bring more. Maybe I should say....IF they bring more.

True, but with the exchange rate you'd also only have 3/4 the money haha

Inexpensive halogen light on our back porch finally bit the dust, was a bit flimsy for the wind here and we went through way too many bulbs in 4 years. 300 watt halogen. Looking at LED flood lights, can someone translate? I'd like atleast as much light as the halogen puts out. WWW says the broken one is 500 watts, either he is mistaking that for our mountain lion (the guy that guy that fought and choked the one on the news from our previous home) or he has been using 500W since the orig 300w 10 pack ran out and that could be whey the bulbs ends were melted to the fixture lol). Any clue?

PS, I like to turn on the switch and leave it on til we go to bed. 16' double slider wall of glass looking out to pure black darkness is not my cup of tea..., so not a motion detector flood light.

3000-3500 Lumens is a very bright light. For instance, a 100watt incandescent bulb gives off approx. 1600 lumens. Hope that helps.

You don't want the second one then..
First light can be turned on and left on, no motion detection.

Those will save ya some $$ on electric bill compared to the halogen.

Done, ordered. Thanks guys :) The black abyss on the other side of the glass wall is unnerving, no lights for miles....

Edit, cancelled order :) Thanks for catching that Chaz !

Glad I read further, would hate for you to get them and then find out.

    I'd have felt bad.

I got tired of replacing halogen bulbs that were lasting fewer and fewer months. Tried a couple PAr30 CFL and they slowly faded and got kinda dim. I've been replacing them with LED PAR bulb floodlights but they've been more like spotlights so one has gone to a double fixture and unless I find another spare halogen element the last halogen that died a few weeks ago will get replaced with another old fashioned double PAR lamp holder.

I also replaced a back door light that was on a motion detector and was a oddball cfl fixture and that has gotten replaced with a plain old light bulb holder with a plain old A19 light bulb LED 60 watt equivalent. Plain old screw in light bulb styles and they are lasting.
    And they're cheap.

Average for a 500W halogen floodlight is 8500-10000 lumens...depending on the specific light design.
You have to spend some money to get the equivalent light from an LED unit. The LEDs tend to be more focused too...more like a spotlight, instead of a floodlight.
There are soooooo many choices out there when it comes to LED lights...can be an internet research rabbit hole!
How to convert watts to lumens (lm)
