14ºF Possible single digits by morning. Keeping the stove stuffed with red maple. A bit chilly to be outside with the constant breeze the last two days and I'd like to be out there cutting some firewood but the 5-6 inches of slush we got a couple days ago is now frozen solid. You can walk on top of it but it's like an ice skating rink. I had to plow it with the FEL before it froze. The snow blower couldn't have picked it up and thrown it very far at all, if at all.
Was a nice day, did not cut today just hauled the spruce from yesterday. Spruce and birch keeping the house warm. Had some traffic on the way to work this morning. Other than the sunrise one caribou was all I saw on the 93 mile commute.
4 deg. here now and just stocked the stove for the night, Boxelder and Maple. The porch wood boxes are getting thin, time to refill in the AM,
Turns out the weatherman was pretty accurate after all. 11* here this morning. Highs will get to around 30* today with some sun peeking through.
Great news, BigPapi! For sure you will need lots of wood next winter. I hope you get some good scores. 6° here, and I haven't done anything outside since last Saturday. The wind was too much yesterday, but it looks calm out there now. Burning old weathered oak and an occasional birch split. Kitty was waiting in front of the stove for me to get it fired up this morning.
It was 28f here this am. Burning some marginal, a little doaty sapwood oak I have in the pile . This small section of it just worked out well for this time of the year.
-13 out and 73 inside birch and spruce warming things up. Today looks like a good day to get some wood after work.
Was 22º when I got up 0600 now about 28º Very clear blue sky's! Grandma burning away at 350º, room 82º I'm really glad for this cold snap I still gotta pump a cord into her to get rid of some really old stuff. I'm trying to get rid of some 5 and 6 year old wood. If it stays cold for a couple more weeks that'll work!!! The rest will be fire pit wood for some friends and us.
