Running out

Took the lot even skinny branches , just because it was the decent thing to do .
They had cut most of it by hand so I finished it off for them .

 

You did great! Birch twigs make great kindling. The bark has volatile oils which make it very flammable, and even the smallest twigs catch fire very fast. When I'm in the mood I clip them and pack them in a milk crate to dry.

 

Sounds like a plan to me

 

Gets home and unloads logs , one s my lads shouts run me down to work iv cut some wood up if ya want it . Full of screws and nails .

It's OK, just shovel them out with the ashes, no harm done.

 

Looking a bit healthier now , could still do wi another good scrounge though .
Garden smells of eucalyptus, glad I didn’t clip the 4 inch nail with saw .
All in all a good day , time for s beer

Any peat sources near you?
Can peat burn in a wood/ coal stove? Not sure about the smoke either

 

I wouldn’t even know where to go , I dare say it would cost a pretty penny if I did .
