    Hey folks, we caught the bottom end of the latest winter storm. Had several tornadoes in our area. One went about 10 miles from our house. No damage here. Several homes destroyed in the path of those storms. Hail stones bigger than golf balls. Big hospital in Macon GA had a few windows blown out.

    Lady in South Ga had broken leg when her house was hit. Just saw news report on the weather channel. At least 14 killed in Alabama. Praying for those families.

    I don't post on this thread much, but there is a family we know in need of prayers.

    My son has a good friend who lost his dad this weekend to a sudden medical condition. Son's friend is 12 y/o, dad was 48, just a year younger than me. My son now has 3 friends without dad's at such a young age. It is very hard to learn of another young man going without his dad and puts life in perspective. I count my blessings tonight.

    Sorry to hear this. Count your blessings yes and think about what's going through your son's head. My son, even at 17, at times says stuff that tells me this is on his mind. Prayers sent. :)

    Right Brian. He had a little hard time telling me and did it in a round about way. I asked him to be there for his friend and don't be shy if he wants to talk about it. Definitely a hard thing to process.

    Very import that some men step up to the plate in times like those. Maybe a few uncles or grandfathers etc. Family member are more likely to do this when one of the parents are lost. So sad. Had that happen here. three sons under five left with their school teacher Mom. She didn't remarry, her Dad and her brother step in and did what's needed. Only one son still home now. I think the Lord had a hand in helping out.

    Wow Jon. Stories like this really can open your eyes and for sure feel for that boy and the rest of his family.

    Prayers out for all of his family as I'm sure he is not the only one hurt from this loss of a loved one.

    I have been expecting a call, today I got word that my brother in Florida has gone from bad to worse and has been placed in hospice with one to three days left. While I knew this was coming, it still hurts. Prayers please that he may enter into God arms without pain or fear.
