40 outside today! Got my week's worth of wood brought in this afternoon. It was a great day for it, clouds and all. Can't say I love stacks all over the dining room, but it is nice only having to fetch from a few feet away when it's filling time. After the "three steps out the door" stack went dry, I started hitting the stacks at the back end of the yard, which are almost exclusively 24" - too long for the IS , having been cut for the owb a couple years back. Next year, big shed near side door with enough wood for the whole season. Maybe two. One for pine, one for hardwood. This morning's 7am load still turning the trick inside! Mrs Papi sure knows her stove loading.
22F 7 clear here, no wind, beautiful night. Oak & Locust in the boiler. Split a load of Sugar Maple this afternoon & forgot to take any pics, but it was a decent day. Sun even shined a bit. Cleaned a few ashes out of the boiler to get ready for the cold snap.
23 with ash burning. The next few days are going to be cold. We’re ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
34° this morning, 70° inside! Some Ash in the stove. Snow/Rain mix later this afternoon and upcoming week, lows in the teens. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
8 out, 71 in. One Oak split on the coals and we'll warm up to 72 in a bit. Dogs and I have been out, and I have a cup of coffee in hand while watching the flames roll off the lone Oak split in the stove. Colder temps until Wed. or Thurs., then gradual warming. Sounds like Spring to me.
31 out, 70 inside. Burning down some locust and oak coals then going to load some red elm I found yesterday when cutting, (had to put a few rounds in the cab to try it). Split it yesterday and it is at 19 to 20 %, burnt some for the evening fire. A little snow then single digits for a few days on the way.
-13f now at 6:30 AM. High according National Weather service for Mpls airport is "near 1" with windchill approaching -30f today. The hearth will be going all day until bedtime.
30 and 75, snow later and a cold snap for next week, somebody should shoot that groundhog. I loaded my racks yesterday that should hold me for close to a week so I'm ready.
She was still dropping at the house through sunrise, but probably bottomed out as we hit -14f. Now the sun has risen. Man, the air is clear. It is beautiful outside now with the sun angle and reflection off trees and snow crystals.
Nice day out, today is my Monday in a five day stretch. Have plans for a pickup load after work each day.
Just trying to keep up with the Jones’s. Working on the 3 year plan. Think I am going to 20/21 now. The mindset is hard for the standing dead crowd. It’s stump to stove mentality I always have been working on next years wood
12* real feel of 0*. A chilly 66* inside. Locust and a random piece of I don't know. Maybe Maple of some sort.Overcast skies at the moment. I see some day drinking in my near future.
