Im finishing up a project on the 19 year old honey-do list. Our house had a gravity furnace in the basement at one time. Prior owners removed it and blocked it ovwr with pine boards. I could not locate salvaged maple flooring today anywhere so I just did new. It would have been difficult to weave in new pieces, so I just square cut them in. 30" x 32" area. Joys of an old house. Sanding and a few coats of poly tomorrow. It may need three coats total. It is under a couch so it never really bothered us. Sorry about the lighting.

Before with the top layer of pine off.

Attended the county Soil and Water Conservation breakfast. Guest speaker talked about Indiana limestone, the history and the industry. Empire State Building, most buildings in DC, lots of State capital buildings, University buildings, Yankee Stadium, and many more were constructed with stone just a few miles from my home.

Returned in time for my neighbor to ask if I wanted to cut some wood. About the same as asking if I wished to go fishing. We worked the tree tops from the logging. He prefers to have four foot long rounds which are small enough to chuck into his boiler. I like to split my two foot length at least once. Sometimes we split the Sam log about halfway along. Snow is coming, so I split a rick worth and added it to the shed.

Received a text from the Discovery Channel film crew who are returning to the UK. The young lady with them said they left me something at the Office, to encourage me to tour Scotland. (We had lunch together one day, and I talked about my Triumph motorcycles)

Settled in awaiting snow. Might be up to attending Meeting in the morning.

@horkin, congrats on the truck...its about time!

I too miss my 87 LX hatch. I built it exactly how I had envisioned, then realized that it just screamed for attention, and barely ever drove it again because I couldn't behave in it. So it sat for a few years then I sold it.

LOL my non work clothing selection back was about the same as now. Jeans and a tee shirt usually. Hair was post mullet when I bought the car, so about the same there too....I had a much smaller forehead back then for some reason though.

Thanks! The timing lined up, and I had to jump on this truck.

Was your 87 5.0 performance red?
That's the color I painted my 87. It was originally "medium red", but I put on a gt spoiler and a 2.5" double scalloped cobra fiberglass hood on it. I'll have to find pictures, but yours looks very similar to mine. I had it when I lived in Maine as well. I too found that that color, and the sound of a full aftermarket exhaust really attracted a lot of attention.

Porsche Guards Red. Combine that with a 2.5" cowl hood, Saleen wing, Convo Pro rims. Skinnys in front, and DOT legal street slicks in the back, 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust and the chrome gauge pods in the cowl. It was just too obnoxious to drive.

Here is the performance red. I'd say it's very similar to Porsche guard red.
downloadfile-3.jpg This is a 93 cobra R. A friend's cousin actually bought one of the 93 cobra R's. Heck this could've been his. There were only 249 of them ever. I'll have to find pics of mine to post. I had 2.5" flowmaster cat back, free flow cat h pipe and headers. Loud, but good. Plus with cars like that, everybody wants to race you.

Meeting some others for snow shoeing today. Their is a pot luck (probably no butterfly shrimp though!) and a small wood fired warming cabin to meet in.

It is -13 with a feel of -30 now. Gonna have to think about leaving that wood heat and food alone for a snowshoe on some trails packed hard from use; what fun would that be???

Loved those Cobra R's! I believe the performance red is more red red, while the Guards Red is orangey. The first coat of guards red lays down almost florescent. I was standing behind a friend when he sprayed my passenger door jamb. After the first sweep of the gun he turned and looked at me, and we were both wide eyed. So I said, we may need to rethink this color. It was on after two coats though.

I had the exact same exhaust as you. I had a bigger throttle body, and 150hp nitrous kit. It went 12.0 @ 112mph back when that was a pretty fast street car.

Hard to believe that when I crew on friends cars these days, one of them is literally more that twice as quick as my street car was.

Can't say I'm completely thrilled about this.

Performance red is very orangy too, it's say it's very close, almost identical to guard red.

Yeah, with a car that color and sounds like that, you get all sorts of attention. I got pulled over on a crisp fall evening after watching football all day because the cop said it sounded like I was speeding. Lol . I was letting the car warm up, not at all on the gas. Less than a block and a half around the corner from where the cop was. I got a warning for something completely unrelated. I wanted to ask if I could see his radar gun showing my "sounds like you're speeding" reading, but I shut up and took the warning for I think having too much fog on the windows because I didn't put the defroster on full blast.

Now this guy/ gal deserved a ticket
