    Nice job. I built a similar unit for scaffolding back in the 90’s as a mason. The first winch of that design that was sold in Ct. by the company that originally designed them. What a worksaver. My laborer sure loved the upgrade.
    I might recommend synthetic rope for it but sunlight isnt great for it and some is always exposed. That and your new stainless wheel is a little small for synthetic line. The line may slip over a small wheel instead of roll. So stainless is the way to go.

    Did you mention how much you love your new setup? LOL
    Not only do you love the ease but you get to take pride in your engineering skills and craftsmanship.

    How has the bucket and straps held up over the years?

    Certainly wouldn't want to be using it on a very windy day.

    Neat hoist idea. I thought when you first talked about the wood stove on the 3rd level, that you would install an elevator for hauling wood.
