Well, March is coming fast and I just went out to the wood shed to bring in some wood. I have only burn't about 1-1/2 cord so far this year. If you count the uglies at shoulder season, "Maybe"2 cord. I'm way behind. I was hoping to get all this 5 and 6 year old stuff burn't. I know winter isn't over yet and March can be a "B!T@# here!!! It can get very nasty then. But, on a nice cold winter, I'm about 3+ cord down by now. Where are you all at? Dave.
a little under 2 cords. heating 100% with wood. at this rate I'll need to slow down on my firewood production.
Around 2 cords in the shop for me. I don’t burn it all the time. Maybe 25%. Our weather is so bipolar it can be 65 and two days later it’s 18. It’s not the most efficient setup so it’s a hog.
Am about the same as you WeldrDave roughly between 1 1/2 - 2 cords give or take. For my 3 year plan goal I am thinking 3 cords per winter is my target. Am about 4 cords behind on my stash that may change soon if I can get couple of these tree's taken care of close to the house, that's why I've been dragging my feet
I was just in the yard with the dogs and "ran" back in to get my camera! Something is really Goofy with the weather, look what's coming up along the side of the house...
I'm over 4 cord and still plenty of snow on ground below 0 last night.. I personally think a geographic relocation will cure this low use problem!
2 and a half cords so far this winter. Much colder this year than last. A little over a foot of snow on the ground.
1.75 cord so far. I burnt more than I should have given the temperature swings, but its just easier to keep the stove going at a low burn rather than doing cold restarts.
Probably close to 3 cord here so far. Yes, we had some warm times this winter but November was cold, colder than December. And we also had some extreme cold. No problem though; we have lots of firewood.
Looking at 2.5-3 cord here. I retired this year so the stove is going pretty much full time when I am home. This is almost double what we burned when I was working. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I have burned about 3.5 cords so far. We were having an easy winter until febuary hit with cold and snow. I'm gonna be busy cutting when I can get into the mtns. Setting a goal of 10 cords for spring and early summer. About 3 cords for dad's shop and the rest for me.
Boy, I dunno...I did a really bad job of getting an inventory tally at the beginning of the season...but I'd guess 4 cords, maybe a bit more? This is with using an indoor whole house wood furnace for heat...keeping the whole 3 floors/~3000 sq ft at 70-73*
What part of the world are all youse guys living in? The tropics? I started tallying up in the first week of October and I am just over 8 cords at this point. Probably be a lot less if I hadn't decided to start heating a mostly uninsulated 800 sf garage in late December. I've probably burned half my total since then. It is amazing how much impact insulation has on heat load. Unfortunately all I had available was a little over 8 cords of wood, so I'm heading into March (historically one of the worst months of winter in the Northeast) with about half a cord of wood.
