It FINALLY stopped raining, at least for a while. Old lady and I are about to go out and get some splitting done.

    /incomplete rant

You need to include the companies name, model number and the customer service number you called. I've gotten some free stuff, vouchers and replacement parts by posting my thoughts about certain products for the whole wide web to see.

If your posting an honest experience your not throwing anyone under the bus... Just helping other consumers make a more informed choice.

Just lost a chicken to a freakin' pair of stray dogs...It happened so dang fast.... I was getting my BBQ grill going and went into the garage for a couple of minutes for some mulberry to smoke with... I come out my chicken is a flopping and the dogs were a running. :mad:Just got done skinning her. I guess at the very least she'll provide meat for the table.

Get yours fast only one left.

Did more yard clean up today after the rain stopped and it got warmer. I might have it cleaned up in time for winter.

TGIF, it has been a long week! Tomorrow I finish up hunters safety with the field test (let's hope I can hit the target) then I am going to apply for concealed carry.

We have a fox that is after our chickens. See him all the time and he has got a couple. We have about 100 birds total now (50 CornishX about 3 weeks along, 25 RIR about 6 weeks along, and about 25 birds that will soon be heading for the stew pot) so its no wonder we have his attention. The problem is I'm never carrying when I see him...makes me want to get a small pistol to keep on me all the time.

Day off today, kind of. I have a chit-ton of work to get done around the house today and tomorrow before heading to SoCal on Sunday. This 4 day mowing schedule is already starting to suck. I mowed on Monday and its overdue....will probably look like a jungle when I get back next Friday.

Hoping to get a turkey/mushroom hunt in tomorrow AM too.

    :DGot high this morning.

Delivered a load of steel to A-Basin, went over Loveland Pass, pulled over, climbed on the bed of the truck and stood up. My head was over 12,000 ft. in the air.

I'm pretty sure I know where it is, but it is at the bottom of the brush pile where we throw stuff down the ravine. I couldn't get to the opening if I wanted to.

You've got quite the flock there. I've talked about doing the meat birds, just haven't jumped yet. I just have a small flock, back to 8 birds now. Actually I'm kinda of surprised that I haven't lost any other birds to predatory threat, since I give my birds so much free range time. Good luck on keeping him at bay.

Yeah, it is...and it is mostly my FILs flock as it as his house (just up the street a bit)...but I get a fair amount of chicken ranching duty.

We do enough meat birds to feed all the families. They aren't cheap to raise compared to what you pay in the store, depending on how/where you get your feed, but they are pretty easy. Takes about 8 weeks from chick to freezer. Got one on the smoker right now.

Between all of our families we can easily eat 3 dozen eggs a day, so we shoot for 25 - 35 layers at a time. This layers we have now are starting to slow down so we have a new group in the making.

    Still watching for woodchucks.
