Just got done plowing just as the winds started picking up! Really starting to whip!

Road signs getting hard to see and the phone booth at MikeInMa's cabin is well insulated!

But never forget there is always tomorrow! Also one of the great things about being ahead on the wood pile. If a slight problem crops up, it is not really a problem or at least not a big problem.

15 here outside; 82 inside. No heavy clothing needed in our house!

Wind is not so bad now but will be even better tomorrow.

That's a big Amen to that one! I'm wondering how Newberry and that area is doing?

Looks like the mid and eastern end has been a bit more "active" this winter when it comes to snowfall. I remember seeing alerts for them a few times more than in past years.

And windy. Makes it cold out there. I went out and did a few things outside that did not take long. But the garage is warmer! LOL Maple and Cherry in the Wood Gun.

I am sure the day will come, where I will have to take it easy, that day was not yesterday. Until I am 60+ cords (3 years C/S/S) I have to suck it up. I am planning to get a load of wood after work every day until, the ground thaws and cut out my access. I am hoping to be able to bring home at least 40 more pickup loads of wood. Then my wood harvesting has to change to dry ground. When that happens, I am limited to when I can get wood. While the ground is frozen, I have to make hay while the sun shines.

That's what it's all about! If you don't own your own woodlot, you have to get while the getting's good!

7F and STILL outdoors:) Almost zero breeze. Compared to 50 mph gusts and white out conditions all day yesterday. Took forever to get my wifes car thawed, scraped and ready to go. I could not believe the county maintainer was on my road at O dark thirty this AM. Sweet. Cars/trucks stuck everywhere. Gene pool mutants who tried travelling in a blizzard:picard:Who in there right mind eh?

Stove is loaded with Pine. Actually running the stove fans today. Don't have to often. Working nicely. Stay warm all!

I cut on public forest lands, I cut in several places under different policies. Resident can get 10 cords from the State Forestry division, above that amount I by timber sales and pay stumpage by the cord. I currently have 2 timber sales. One is only accessible during the winter, I have to cross a frozen river. The other is dry ground, I am looking a 2 more, one being year around accessible and the other summer only. It as close to ownership, without paying for the land, just buying the trees.

You have brought home a lot of wood. But I am curious. It seems you are able to keep your snowmobile and sleds at work. From there you have access to go get the wood. Load it take it home. Is that correct? Does it butt up to where you work.
