Busy morning and day yesterday, did not know it was possible for me but I over did the coffee yesterday afternoon and evening, woops. Hopefully better sleep tonight :) Looking at modular homes to put on a lot in town, looked into it and it's expensive after all the costs are added up

So did lukem actually accept the new gig?

I had to cut back on coffee too. I was getting vertigo in the mornings. So, instead of a big mug full, I have a normal mug, and no more vertigo.

So I’m not sure which way you would have come into Malone. I came in on 37 East. The other main routes are Route 11 coming from Potsdam, NY, and Route 30. There are signs for Titus Mountain. The Ski Resort is a big thing there. It is about 6-7 miles Southeast of Malone.

If you go to Google Maps it is a great thing. Type in Malone, NY and you can zoom in and out and you’ll se Titus Mountain to the South.

Went to the grocery store this morning. They had Asparagus on sale for $.88 per pound. It is normally over $2/lb. so I bought 11lbs. Spent the day cleaning, blanching and freezing.
It was a beautiful day. Sunny and topped out at 41* Tomorrow is suppose to top at 42* Maybe I can get out to the woodlot but the wife wants to go and look at laminate flooring. Maybe I can talk her into going Sat or Sun when it is suppose to rain.

My son and I tried to go four wheeling but the snow was too deep. So we put those away and put our snow shoes on. Went for a walk all around the property. Holy crap! What a workout. Worked up a good appetite. Haveing a cold beer and waiting for wife to come in from the barn. She made homemade Spaghetti and meatballs with Italian sausage in there too. Looks like I have time for a second beer!:)

Thanks guys on the home. I'd really like to swing this. Right part of town, large lot for a neighborhood, and drooling on this home

MODELS & PRICING / Crystal Bay 4644C | Factory Homes Outlet [Attachment(s) removed]

I'd prefer 1800 sq ft on a cape with a ton of windows but not in the budget.

Midwinter , I had vertigo in bed for a few years (sinuses after "moving" into this house but house was not really ready and needed lots of repairs and remodel etc.). It was really scary. I'd try to roll over and hit the wall behind the bed instead, or face plant into the mattress instead of just rolling over to lay my head on the the pillow, and did a 45* angle walk down the hall with hand against wall sometimes. Thank God I have not had that in a few years now. Spooky stuff!

Not rocked on black gold today :) Will try to go to town again tomorrow, Walmart clothes clearance, all $1, $3 and $5. I made it to one 3 years ago, got several full 2 piece outfits for kiddo and sparkly gold holiday dress with peblum and matching little jacket for $1, she still wears them til this day for dress up etc.

It looks like that roof load is designed with 30 lb trusses. We need at least an 80 lb here. I don't know how it is out there, but it doesn't take long for the wind to drift up well over 30lbs on a roof no? Maybe that's just an entry level home and you would have to upgrade to your local building requirements?

    Just thought I'd mention it.

I like the front porch and can see someone sitting on it enjoying a summer evening!

Uh huh!! That side with the bank of windows and the covered deck facing SW, yuppers I can see it too. With a bit of wind break since it's in town with other homes and buildings I'll have flower baskets on that deck too!!!! (tap water :dancer: )

Well thanks Dave! Asked WWW, but he's half asleep and mumbling about 1000 lbs per square or something............. I have not even looked at the specs, not that I would know truss pounds anyway, but I assumed since this place is out of Rock Springs it was spec'd for Wyoming snow and wind weather, but looks like I have some more homework to do. That said I have a lot more talking to do with the little sales gal for accurate pricing. Sweet as can be, but OMG SOOOOOO young. I still think of my niece as a little girl and they are about the same age o_O. Yes, sweet, polite, but she's mixing up costs on the home price with the installation price and keeps forgetting the cost of the land :picard:

I appreciate you looking out for me !

Are you looking to move to Rock Springs or Laramie? I missed your new locale. They can be different as far a weather goes.

Moving 20 (googlefu) miles into the "city limits" of Laramie. Still Laramie and keeping this fishing shack. Any referrals for a modular or budget stick build that will come up and build here?

The modular dealer is located in Rock Springs but home will be here in Laramie. They have showrooms in ID, UT and the Rock Springs one in WY

Gotcha. Laramie has more snow load requirements than Rock Springs, but there should be a snow load requirement for new builds on a county/city planner website.
Colorado has the elevation load requirements, but I think Wyo. has wind/snow loads combined. Not certain on that. 30lbs/load seems really light, I would guess actual is double that or more. WWW will know.

Breakfast with Dad this morning. He is having a more difficult time mentally now, but hanging in there. Mom is going to have to get professional help to come in now. Some of the family are working on setting that up.

I will be off to the transfer station with their and our trash after Mom gets up.

I hope you can find a reliable and caring helper for your father. Its a low paying job, so there tends to be a lot of turnover. Good luck!

Who here from MA has a CHNSAW (or similar) license plate on their truck? Saw it in Manchester, NH yesterday.
