Here are some views from the house. its mid 20's and lightly snowing. a beautiful winter day. View to the northwest of the house from the west side of the house. View to the southwest from the west side of the house. Another view to the southwest this time from the south side of the house. My computer views out to the south, this is 1/2 of the view. You can see my neighbors place on the left side of the picture. This is the only house visible from my house. last view, this time to the south east from the east side of the house.
Here is a view to the south. Just trying some different picture options also. You can see one of my 8 x 8 x 4-5' alternating wood piles in the woods. Its in front of the right side of the neighbors house. There is also a smaller stack just inside the woods on the left side following the path into the woods. Last winter it was much harder to see the neighbors place. The August tornado's cleared out the woods really good. Now you can his place for about 1/2 of the year.
This is the parking lot at work this past Friday. It is often into May before this is totally melted. Even though it was cold when the picture was taken, you can see the effect of the stronger sun now on blacktop with all the melting.
Love the videos but 2 questions. Were you snow shoeing and the green ribbon is that trees you plan to take down?
Yes, snowshoes, we had just gotten about 8-9 inches on top of a few inches of crusty frozen stuff. The green tape is marking the trail as I was cuttin it in when we first bought the property.
That's doggie paradise! The ones that went off chasing something, will they come home by themselves, or do you zap their collars as a reminder? I love those big boulders close to your house. Little bit of Acadia.
We had another 8" over the weekend. More trudging around digging things out I had to walk to my neighbor's place to get out his skid loader and clean out his drive. He was on his way home from being out of state. He had called and had no idea his place was snowed in! I didn't think his Prius would make it up the drive
we had another 3" over night. Temps this morning as I did some shoveling were around 10-15 deg. The sun was out and relatively calm. A Gorgeous morning in God's country. I pity you poor souls living down south having to mow lawns.
Hahaha! I have a rule here at our house. 20 mows per year or less. Got a four or five inches of fluffy stuff overnight. Finished plowing and it started snowing again unexpectedly. At least it’s not a growing lawn!
Just heard on the weather tonight. This is the 2nd coldest recorded February in ND since 1895. Our average daytime high was 3°. It was the most nights in February below -0° ever recorded in ND. Finally we have not been to or above freezing for 47 consecutive days and are not forecast to be above it potentially for another week or two.
With the cold and snow we have been getting it seems like about every 4/5 days a new round of where is the arthritis roulette wheel going to point. Not sure if it is the moisture, cold, barometric pressure, or phase of the moon in alignment with the north star, or what but she has about 2 days of misery, then it eases off a few days and BAM, look what joint won't move today. She keeps plugging along somehow, but it is a slow painful agony at times. She keeps saying she needs some sun and warm to soak into her bones.
The one above is from a couple years ago. As Mon morning, we have 38" on the ground. Next one is snow piling up on the deck. It has since been shoveled (actually-snow blowed). You can see the handle on the sliding screen for size reference. Hey Eric VW Here is a pic of me finally! Working in the background. These last two pics were from Sunday.
Running the snowblower near the top left. Got it? I'm clearing a path to the OWB. She is getting really sick of the snow as she announced it this afternoon...….
What were you expecting...…… a close up? Ha, that'll be the day! Never pretended to be something other than what I am!
I see a mysterious hooded person waist high in snow with the snow blower shooting snow. That's what you look like @yoops?
