Pulling ash out of the side "yard" today. Now that I am burning wood at an accelerated rate, I wanted to replace what I have burned.
Well it's not a truck but I feel like a Volvo wagon full of firewood is the properly Swedish thing to do! Since I don't have a fancy tractor this was my way to move it across the yard!
I rarely haul wood in my truck, but took a load over to my folks place last weekend. This is three tractor bucket loads dumped in. Probably a little less than half a cord. CSS in Spring of 2016.
Today's haul. Perfect day for cutting wood in Michigan. Trailer (8'x12') loaded with oak. Was a little heavy for the trailer. Only had to haul 3 miles on dirt roads to the house.
Got some ash out of the front yard. The ground was good and solid when i pulled the truck into load. By the time I was loaded, the sun had thawed the ground. I done got properly stuck. I tried using slab wood to get traction, I put the truck in 4x4 low, no dice. I went out at dark to cover the splitter and tried one last time. Old whitey Ford pulled right out.
Thank you for the welcoming. Glad to see people enjoy hard work still. Being in the woods theirs nothing like it. Relaxing
I have the same model truck. Toyota puts the mud flaps way to close to the ground. Mine are always petting rocks when exiting the woods with a full load. Every time I tell myself I am going to remove them. 10 years later, I am caring less and less.
Took the spruce home today and birch is for the next ride home. Cut this wood after work, Skandic, 461 and sleigh stays at work.
This is another load hauled from buddies house. All I had to do was show up and load he pretty well cut it all.
Yes it's a 462 ALFAO1 got it for me a while ago it's the standard carb model it's been a great saw so far I have been super impressed Thanks I made them because saw chains were scratching everything up the last straw was getting up the mountain and having a hole in a new gallon of bar oil 90 % of it was in the bed of my truck I brought the boys with me yesterday the snow is getting deep
