    Most of you got the worst of it. We wound up with about three inches of snow after it got packed down with 3/8” of ice. Cleaning off the driveway and cars were fun. Wouldn’t have done it till the afternoon, but had to take the wife’s car in for service. Last night it was a skating rink on all the major roads with the freezing rain and not much road salting and clearing going on till about 4am.

    It's been one of those days. Left home before daylight. Roads are all ice and snow so we left plenty early. Didn't go too far before we see people parked in some strange places so that they are in need of a tow truck. Hum. The last one we came upon we had to wait as they had the road blocked trying to get him back onto the road. He was not in the ditch. He had went clear past the ditch and was in a field. They had to pull him through the ditch though and we had to wait. Not a big problem.

    Next, a few miles up the road we suddenly hear something scraping like we'd ran over something and was dragging it. Well, it was something from the car! So here I am on a 2 lane road that is icy, it is snowing hard and the wind was blowing hard and I'm laying on my back with a flashlight trying to see what happened. Long story short, I got it just enough so it did not drag and stopped at the first gas station so I had lights. Did the best I could under the conditions then headed out again. Thought I might find a guy up ahead who might be able to get it in the air to tie things up better. Then I thought about our friend, Pallet Pete. A phone call found him only a short distance from his home and he said he'd meet me there. Got out a jack and some zip ties and was soon back on the road.

    Doctor's appointment was late but I called on the way to explain so that was not a problem. But after the procedure my poor wife can't walk. This has happened before and she is okay now but it did hold us up a bit. On way home we stopped at a body shop. Ah, a cheap fix. Only $725 will fix that right up...

    Home. Was changing out a electric box and the new one did not match the old. It was with one 120 outlet and a light switch. Finally called a neighbor and he came. Together we finally got that to work. Then as he was leaving, he called to tell us the snow plow just went through and our mailbox was on the ground. Got that back together but now I'm afraid to move! What else might happen today?

    spent 4.5 hours re-posistioning Mother Natures white confection yesterday, course the she had to add a top coat with 30mph winds so another couple hours this morning re -arranging those thoughtfully placed drifts and, of course, the magical road crew berm at the drive entrance. Not as bad as some maybe 6" avg. yesterday and apx 3" avg. more over night. I don't know what the official total was, everything is wide open here so any kind of wind blows the powdery stuff all over. Good thing was it wasn't the semi set cement type.

    After the last round of home made broccoli cheese soup my wife made I have stopped eating everything with broccoli in it. It gave new meaning to my screen name.:faint:

    Just for both of us to go for a drive. A fairly common occurance when one of us has the money, or sometimes we'll share the cost. For occasions we always do a road trip as my gift.

    did the same, both cheddar brocc and the potato, but. Not for sale here anymore but found potato on amazon and out of brocc last night. Canned corn in the potato was delish though :)
