Power line was cleared earlier this year that runs through my families property, most of the wood is ash, and accessible from an old railroad grade! I think my 3 year plan can all come from here!!!

I double that! Apart from the clearance, any of your ash tree fell victim to the EAB?

That's kind of easy to get at and Ash is just fine by me. Good deal.

Get as much as you can because you'll be talking about how easy this scrounge was for years to come! Great access!

Was planning on buying a hydraulic splitter, but will probably hold off, ash splits so easy by hand I think a hydraulic splitter would slow me down!

Just wait, you'll find some that you can't split with an axe/ maul.

Even with straight grained wood, a slow splitter will outsplit any axe/ maul over more than a 5-10 minute span.

Still going to get one eventually, as for now I always split before I load in the truck, so it seams like it would add another time handling the wood for me

Leaves the cleanup out in the woods that way too. Don't have all the splitting scraps laying around the yard...…….

Once you get one, you'll wonder why you waited so long to get one.
