For some of the more experienced guys you can tell I hung this tree up. Perfect way to start the day . I did not take pictures of the remedy, but I chunked off 3 ft at a time, to get it off the stump. Made a third undercut and used come alongs to pull sideways and break it up about 30 ft up where a rotten spot was. I cut it expecting the top to break and roll back on itself, but there wasn’t enough momentum. Lots of widow makers flying, and some tough cuts. Time and patience. Be careful out there! Depth of hole is nearly a foot. This piece snapped off about 30 ft up Widow maker landed close to the saw. I was about 15 ft southeast when I finally got it broke free.
I keep telling me to get a winch for these ones. V-Cut and winch... proably the safest way to get it done. Stupid stuff happends, it did to me two weeks ago, lets avoid it by doing it right. Gotta say John Deere Green and Yellow always makes me smile! Stay safe and keep hoarding!
