Well in some places, not much, about 1/2'' so far here. I checked a wood cutting area last week, and they haven't even started stacking the brush yet, so, there's some good butt cut's close to the edge of the road, and some pretty nice wood logs left laying around. Going to take the grandson up on saturday and if there's not much snow up there cut a load. Went up last sat and just looked it over, brought home a little bit of it, and it was sure some nice wood. Red fir mostly, and if i'd had more time i could have gotten a pretty nice load pretty quick. Good rocked road, and they are still logging farther down the hill, so, i'll wait till saturday and keep out of the way of the trucks. Guessing this snow won't last long and if it warms up it'll be cleared out up high. Got the old Blaze king woofin, and its nice and warm in here, boy, i love these kind of days! I do feel sorry for the older people, and the guys in the woods, it can get dangerous out there fast. If we get up there, i'll take some pictures, its BEAUTIFUL COUNTY to say the least, i think you can see for over 30 miles, and its nothing but, timber!
For sure take it when you can get it. As for the snow, we'll no doubt have lots more before spring is here to stay.
Got about 1.5" last night here in Tacoma. Everything sure looks different. Got the snow on top of rain, then the temps dropped making for icy conditions. Lots of idiots on the road and a few in the ditches. Got up early and started a good fire in the stove and a hot pot of coffee. Read for a while and when the house was warm the Wif got up and made a big breakfast! Life is very harsh at times! Glad you got a bit of wood and hope more is reachable for you!
Got almost 3" out in maple falls. Been pretty chilly 15 out right now with some good wind making it feel like -5. Supposed to be below freezing till Wednesday and then lot get above 37 for the next 10 days.
Bran, if you listen closely, you can hear all the members back east laughing at us and our couple inches of snow and above 0* temps!
Same in Eastern Washington, very little snow this year. Haven't seen a negative number on the thermometer yet either.
I had 2" by yesterday afternoon. It snowed another 5" this morning. I'm off on Mondays and just stayed home, mostly letting the dog play in it and then cleaning snowballs out of her hair.
It is true. Victoria TV news posted pictures of blossoms blooming. I would imagine that they are frozen in place now as we are all flirting with freezing temps out here on the coast. I just hope it stays dry when we warm up.
Oh, no worry, i knew that was coming, its just that we haven't had any snow and almost no rain by oregons standards. This is very welcome. I used to have to plow and sand this stuff, it snowed again this morning, and, its welcome, to me anyway. But, now my wood source is covered, its at a higher elevation. Was planning on taking the grandson out and making a day of it, but, not now. I could go cut, but, it would cost me a chain or 2. Then wood types, are covered and its random species, i'd rather cut when its totally visible and i can identify which wood i want to cut.
LOL/ WE had an english setter many many years ago. I forgot about the snowballs. We had to build a kennel for it as it could not be left home alone.
Beautiful dog blacktail! Has a sweet face. I have had Gordon and Irish Setters and they really ball up in the snow! My Sister has a Wooly Malamute who seems resistant to snow balling!
