Went to a local showing of the Banff Mountian Film Festival World Tour last night, I highly recommend it.

We've never tried those pods. Have always been liquid; powder for a short time long ago. I don't know if you can even buy powdered laundry soap any longer??

Time away from computers and phones. More time outside. Good for the spirit.

Yes, I use powder. Only thing prewash with work with, liquid and pods don't.

I had one hell of a time with this mornings stove reload. 100% same procedure and wood that I've been using all along, but it just wanted to smolder. No hissing or anything, just a slow azz fire that took forever to light, then needed a ton of external air to get up to temp.

We were a little sluggish today too. Very little wind and temps around freezing is half of it. It is not very dry out, making the air heavy. I added few small dry pine kindling pieces from Rowerwet ' s son's kindling business. They gave a nice hot kick to get things going.

Winter has arrived with a vengeance. My weather sticker isn't accurate. -6 C/ 21 F with a light dusting of snow. campinspecter is holding the fort at Mom's with two year old dry hemlock keeping the house toasty warm. Her furnace is working great. Our system is running well and the house is toasty. I am heading over there to watch the big game this afternoon. I don't know who to cheer for.

Big time melting going on here like in many places. Seems good to see lots of water dripping off the roofs. Also last night was the first time we went without a fire in the stove for a long time. It was 68 when I got up but the first thing I did was light a fire in the stove.

Had a couple of early Super Bowl guests this morning. Looks like they were trying to not show up uninvited without atleast bringing something.

Last day of higher prednisone, then back to my normal 5. Phew! I am well over a gallon of water a day. The increased appetite if kind of fun though.

Oh! Very late, but I bought a little humidifier for the bedroom and it was delivered yesterday. Worked great!! It ran on high all night and got the bedroom up to 37% (record high for here).

Very cool, must have been a mouse or vole. Maybe a chipie, but that is less likely.
