We are far from a record here. Supposed to get to -11 tonight. Update, they've upped the overnight low to -7. A warm front just came through, I guess.
We set a new low high temp in La Crosse. The old record was -6, set back in 1899 and the high for today was -12. Might as well set a record if it is going to be really cold.
I just looked and tonight isn't supposed to be so bad, maybe only -27° overnight low. By sun up around -15°, so with it being like this it must mean we are on the warm up!
Brookfield Wi. set a new record yesterday -30 that is 50 miles south of me . Car was reporting -31 on my way in to my shop this morning. Heat wave coming though, it will be apx -6 on my way home and they are calling for 30+ degs over weekend.
Doing pretty good. By the time Chaz went to work it was 68 so I kicked on the furnace to give it a boost up to 75. The temp outside is 0 and should get a few degrees warmer. Going to get a bit warmer everyday till next Wednesday with a temp around 45. Then it will go back to normal 20/30s
Woke up this AM to the house at 53 degrees, not that big of a deal without a kid, but with a5 month old it was a little different feeling to say the least. Lp back up, the regulator was froze shut, tried ignoring all night. Owb for our main source, but the thermostat is funky so furnace fan has to be turned on and off manually on the thermostat, good thing I got it up to 72 before turning in for the night. -30 when I went to bed.
I hope you have a separate T-stat for the OWB? It should be wired (low voltage) to R and W on the T-stat and then R and G on the furnace terminal board. Is the LP regulator getting a source of frost from something like a dryer vent? Or maybe just too low to ground/snow level?
It was the coldest airmass here since 1996, but as far as I know there were no record lows were set here in MN. It is -1f now so the warm up is upon us for the weekend, which is nice for folks to get some cold related issues straightened out before the next cold snap predicted by next week (not as cold, but teens below zero).
Here in NH our weatherman does a forecast for the month on the first of every month. He said the Midwest will get more dips of the polar vortex, with warmer intervals in between. We on the east coast stay on the edge of it all, so nowhere near as cold as you folks have experienced.
if that dial thermometer is anything like the dial STT thermometers, it could be 50-100 degrees off That could be minus 127. lol
