I should've checked the temp on the house thermometer-not the TV. I have -20 now with feel of -43. Yup, it was a quick trip to the OWB!
We are going back to more normal temps. Cut some wood after work, used my square grind chain on a ported 261, what a great combo. Cut down standing dead spruce and some birch. The blaze king is doing its thing, using spruce and not complaining. House is toasty temps are good from keeping the bugs away, what more can one ask for.
EEsh, forecast was for +9ºF , it's already +7ºF at midnight. Oh man fell asleep sometime after the howling wind snow squall went through. Squeezed two small splits in. Now to get back to sleep. SUre is cold west of me.
-3....68* keepin a healthy diet of red oak blazin....baby sittin stove.....this is a big test to keep the furnace from runnin. I keep the garage temp at 40*.....i can here the propane gettin sucked out my tanks...
-7 feels like -30. Supposed to be -11/-40 at sunup. Sugar maple kept it at 68, red maple loaded up now to burn hot and quick before wife & kids get up. No fossil fuels have been consumed in the production of this program.
I remember a post Canadian border VT made a little while back about ice n temps...what its like at given temps as far as slippery...so i rembered he said 0*...no slippy.....by golly....he was right...i just put it to the test...
-25f now. It has to reach -28f to break the recorded record low for the date in Mpls. Have some big pieces of sugar maple and paper birch rolling in the hearth.
6° currently, 70° inside and blower still cranking. Put a big ole piece of oak in last night and she's still going this AM. Just dropped some pine in. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Had -11° at 4:30. We’re in an NWS severe weather warning for wind chills down to -40° with the gusts. Got up early to crank up the stove from last nights coals and put on a pot of coffee. House dropped from 68° to 62° overnight. Unheated garage holding just fine in the low 40s. Last load went into the stove around 9:30 last night. Just put on some some oak and a piece of beech. Looks like some more beech and a couple pieces of black locust are on deck in the cart. Stay warm all.
-1 feels like -16, 73 inside and I just threw some pine on the coals. Fireview did great holding it’s own overnight, went to bed at 8:30 at 79 IAT and still have a thick coal bed from the KD oak and one big birch round, also KD. Below zero wind chill next couple days or so but nothing like you guys west of here. Cleaned up 6” of nice fluff yesterday and last night we got a couple inches in a squall and it’s staying right where it is until it warms up some. It was nice not dealing with slop for a change. Now they’re talking rain on the way in a few days
