Yeah a crazy mark up for sure for a little plastic bushing. No goo on the pipe. Just silicone tape. It’s in there pretty good. I’ll spray it every night this week with wd40 and hope that will loosed it up. Not easy for one guy working with 6” pipe so stove sander may have to help

We have fire. Really lucked out on this one. Exhaust pipe off the back of the classic bay stove is just about the same as my previous Advance so I didn’t even have to move my pipe any.i attatch the pipe temporarily using silicone tape and hooked it up to a non programmable thermostat and fired it up. Man this thing throws heat. Basement was 60 when I fired it up and within 35 minutes I was at 70. That’s where I had set the stat so the Stove began to shut down. About 20 minutes later it refired so I’ll have to find a non programmable stat with a swing setting and get used to the settings on the stove to avoid the frequent stops and starts. By recommendation in a tstat

This is a programmable one but it's a great stat with a swing setting in it. Not sure how many, if any, are available with non-programmable with a swing.

My Lux T—Stat has a dip switch to remove the programming to make it manual. :)

Just set all the program temps to the same? Then it should use set swing to control the stove.

ty sir. I’m trying to figure out how to connect the outside air now. I have Selkirk DT which bring the air in and heats it before getting to the stove. I stole the stove for $200 but I have a hard time coughing up $70 for the air collar without at least trying to configure something myself

A piece of flat metal, cut hole in it,tack weld a piece of exhaust tubing on it,screw it to stove. Some people have taken a section of exhaust tubing, cut it on a 45,weld together to make a 90 so flex tubing has no bend.

My old 1200 I took a piece of 2" conduit and cut it and made a 90 degree piece that sticks out the back of the stove. Had to snip the back grating on the stove but made it look nice. I tacked all the pieces together and finished the joints with silicone. I have a pic somewhere. If I find it I'll post it. The biggest thing is to seal the bottom pedestal of the stove so it actually is "sucking" from the OAK and not from everywhere else. I put flat gasket around where the pedestal meets the floor pad.

I made mine from exhaust tubing. Not sure where the pictures are. I paid $10 for the tubing and another $10 for a local shop to bend it how I wanted.

Hey guys. Have a couple questions on my 2008 cb1200. Last year the stove ran like a champ. Great heat, strong robust flame on start up that would die down after a little while and from there on just purr along doing its thing. I’ve only run it a handful of times this year but it’s not burning the same. I cleaned in the spring and yesterday cleaned it again from top to bottom including lint eater on the pipe and LBT. Stove is clean. All new gaskets throughout the stove last year when I refurbished it. The flame seldom gets above the pot. Fuel gate is fully open and feed and fan on high. AS I said, last year I’d have a roaring fire on start up but this year it seldom gets above the pot. I’ve done a lot of reading on my issue and people mentioned the opening at the bottom the burn pot might have increased due to a loose nut and the auger motor reversing. I’ve checked both of these and neither one seems to be the issue. I’ve tried 3 different brand pellets and same flame issues with all 3. So I’m starting to question my auger motor now. While I haven’t seen it reversing I wonder if it’s dying on me. I’m not super familiar with quads so wondering what you all think might be going on here. One thing I will mention is that I’m serial LOT of embers flying from the pot when the pellets drop and it seems to be substantially more than what I’m used to. Attatched is a pic of the auger motor that’s in my stove and also of a spare that I have that came out of a cb1200 insert that I have on hand. Does the cb freestanding and insert use the same motor and are these interchangeable

    Hi Corkman
The 1st picture is the older style auger motor and the motor with the pointy black triangles on top is the new style motor.
Yes the insert does take the same motor so that is what I suggest, get rid of that old auger feed motor. :)
Let us know how it works. :)
