Snowless winter, did Germany steal our snow?

No lake snow? I thought for sure that you would get a dumping from the lake squalls. Burned a few gallons in the insect fogger, Er snowmobile today. Kids loved it. Might head out to the in laws farm tommorrow and let them ride till they are frozen. :)

Winter arrived, a little snow and low temps... weather folks say its likely to stay that
way for a while. I say bring it on!

Nope. None of that. We figured we'd get LE snow, but that just didn't happen. We were to be getting more snow from about from 6 pm until midnight, and that I guess was the LE snow we didn't get. You could see the moon through the edge of the "lake clouds" as I like to call them. Those clouds just never blew over us.

So my decision to snowblow in the early afternoon was a good one. :)

The good news is that this snow will allow me to haul out wood at my wood lot.

Sunny and chilly here. Seals must have failed on the brake cylinder when it got cold. No brakes on the sled this morning. Wife strangely insistent that they work before kids go out:doh:

Same here. Hate doing anything mid day regardless of the weather... The lighting is way more dramatic in the mornings and evenings!

Many years ago with my middle daughter she was driving with dad hanging on like some weird baboon riding on the back of the sled, and she goosed it hard, flung me off and kept going. As luck would have it, she eventually let go of the throttle and coasts to a stop more or less in the middle of large, but loosely spaced group of deer. The snowmobile was still idling when I finally got to her, she was crying and being 9 or 10 at the time couldn't remember where the brake was. Then we both realized that the deer were just hanging out ... As the sunset entirely it got really dark, but they were Not at all perturbed by our presence. It was more than a bit surreal. I shut the engine off we just watched them go about their business rooting around in the field. Restarted the engine and they dispersed a little . .. We drove back to the farm house and My wife has been paranoid about the kids and the snowmobile since.
Oh, and when it came time to leave ... I couldn't get the snowmobile to move. Gunning it hard, just would not go... Had to back up the trailer and push/pull it up by hand. Realized at that point the parking brake was set. Gah!!!

Well we have had some serious cold. This am on my drive into work it was -11°. We also had lake effect snow all day, that didn't add up to much, but about another 1" maybe. Now tomorrow, we are to get another shown, I hear 5-7". It is to be the wet heavy snow, unlike the fluff we got over the weekend.

Where did you find - 11? It was zero in the morning here and I am farther inland. Do you work north or west
    ?

-15 this morning. About 10" inches of snow depth on the ground and more on the way! Finally feeling like a winter. February looking sketchy though...
