Heres a little flock of Junkos..they come to see me every winter....theres Tufted Titmouses n Black Capped Chicedees at the sunflower seed feeder....few Cardinals comin to feed on the dropped sun flower seeds....
I have similar. put feeders out late, but they have found them. I had a big can of mixed nuts from NY eve. I wanted to chop them up for woodpeckers and whatever. I used the wrong setting it turned into a butter consistency. What the heck- I set it out on a tray, and all the birds went crazy! It was gone before sunset. This morning I placed the remainder out for them. I am sure it is giving them some good energy to fight of the cold.
Yes, we look forward every winter to see them (juncos) arrive. Then come May they have usually headed back north.
