Thanks, I’ll look into how I can post pictures. I always split by hand, but since I retired and ended up with 10 cords of really big stuff, I bought the splitter. So far, so good, and it has given me time to get on with all the other projects I put off while working. I still love to swing that 1970 Monster Maul!

Here are a few of my stoves. Too cold to go out to take pictures of the maul and the woodshed, but I will soon.

That is awesome! There is a great area on the forum for showcasing and discussing hobbies. I'll bet people would love to see your stuff over there. Either start your own thread or tag onto some of the others.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. I am looking for some tips on cooking with that old kitchen stove, but I know there is another area for that, so I’ll post there.

Happy Friday guys and gals. I’ve always had and saw/axe/wood addiction. Foolishly I thought I was one of a few until I found this site!

I’m a heavy equipment field mechanic by trade so working on stuff comes very natural to me. I’ve got saws as small as a Homelite XL up to a Husky 2100 with many stops in between. I’ve also had a hardcore axe addiction lately as well.

I heat my shop with a salvaged Ashely forced air wood/coal burner. Most of my wood comes from pecan groves/orchards as well as stuff I cut ahead of a forestry mulcher. I split some by hand and some with a splitter. I plan to build a rather large one with stuff I’ve accumulated over the years.

I’ve done a lot of reading on here and there seems to be a lot of really sharp and helpful people! I’m looking forward to helping where I can.

I don’t have many pics handy but here’s one I snapped the other day. Kind of when I realized I might have a problem!

In that pic is the 2100, 395XP, 660 magnum (a bit of a hotrod), MS 440 magnum with a 460 top end, MS390 with a few simple mods, 55 Rancher (my first new saw forever ago), the little XLs, 200T and a MS170. Absent is my MS461 arctic full wrap that’s been ported and squished. It’s a monster.

That’s my heeler Kevin. He’s about 8 months or so.
