6 degrees this morning when we woke up., started the fireplace in the family room around noon time, shut down the hydronic zone and the fire place feeels great with some white birch cranking away.
Wife has a pot of sauce brewing. Good day to be home from work.

It's been a few days since we've had a good rain. We're getting close to drought conditions here in central PA :picard::headbang:

minus 7*F this AM my smorgasbord of hardwood from last evening kept the house at 70* until about 10am (16hr burn time). I put on a small load of Ash and Maple to get through till this evening. I went back out at 5pm and reloaded the OWB tonight I put on a load of Red and White Oak that I sorted out of the stack. It is going to be another below zero night. :shiver: It never got above 4*F today

-17F here this morning, made it up to 16. Very little wind & sunny. Was a nice day, wish I could've worked outdoors this afternoon, but no such luck. +2 here now, loaded the boiler with Oak & Ash. It kept up good last night, but water temp was down this morning. Shoulda loaded it a little heavier I guess. Was 69 in the office & shop instead of 72. Not bad, but toasting off a bit of wood. I think I'm under 20 cords on hand now.
