It was a nice day to work outside! I carried some maple in, debarked and split some locust, and scored some barrels at the dump! Got two, and went back for two more. No wood to be scrounged, though. IMG_20190125_59472.jpg IMG_20190125_7262.jpg IMG_20190125_12712.jpg

You will like the barrels for storing shorts and uglies. Remember to put them up on 4x4's or 4" cap block, I would cover them with metal roofing, if possible, paint 'em black, set 'em in the sun and dry away...glad you found some more. Wish you could find some plastic pallets, I've gotten a few throw aways from work and trying them out. Seems like the barrels slide on the pallet easy and can do double rows on one pallet. It take a picture soon.

One of the local Dads in the hood was looking to get rid of some firewood for $50.00. Wood is not dry and didn’t want to hold on to it. Well over a face cord. Some splits are 24” long. 2 miles from my house, couldnt pass it up.

Still no wood at the dump, but I found some galvanized roofing... IMG_20190126_39600.jpg View attachment 195793 IMG_20190126_53340.jpg It's a little roughed up but I'll find a use for it, at least to cover up my steel barrels.
I got some more splitting done too, turned this

There was a lot of it. Good that it hadn't been folded, and it was in 6 and 8 foot lengths, which fit in my car.

Awesome. Wish my dump didn’t suck! All steel goes into a roll off dumpster. And I’ve never seen anything but brush in our wood pile

Just get you a tube of silicone for any holes in your metal sheets and you're all set.

Well you often get the river of grease flowing by the front of your property. That's pretty special, isn't it?

Well, you could move to Nashua, but if you can't handle the grease, you don't deserve the dump.

A little brown or green paint would spruce them up some....

It's not rust, it's patina! Luckily I like the bare metal because I would never get around to painting them. I will put silicone in the holes though, there are lots of holes. Also maybe folding over the jagged edges and pounding them flat.
