Wet wet, wet! Can't do anything outside without sinking up to your knees in sloppy clay mud. Now they say white death on Saturday followed by temps near or below 0°! I've got trees to buck and trees to fell. The ground may freeze but i ain't gettin' more than 4 feet away from the fire if it hits the temps that are predicted. I hate this kind of winter!
Feel for you Ralphie Boy.. Cannot relate as we have had snow since thanksgiving.. Last nite was -8 so pretty sure it's frozen However with a high today of 9.. Been enjoying the fire
Sorry to hear about all that deep mud, that has to be impossible to work in. Solid everything here, folks are harvesting ice on some of the ponds & lakes here. One foot of ice on one I saw, even more on the ponds.
My grandpa went ice fishing when he was younger and caught 200 lbs. His mom fried it up and drowned the whole family...
I am with you Ralphie, when it gets that cold and with the wind I stay inside with the stove cranking away.
I guess that's what happens to folks in the warmer climate states. Makes ya soft, why up here five inch of snow ain't nuttin but a heavy frost. Seriously though, it does create challenges. Haha Brandon my Dad was born in Jackson county Ky. He told me about some hard times but that's ruff right there now.
Same here Ralphie Boy , been swimming in a mud hole this whole year (+70”) and now the clock has re-set but the weather remains the same. Not good for hoarding, fit only for ducks...hope Feb is better.
I’d rather have snow than all the rain and mud this time of year Ralphie Boy. You could always move north but then you’d be huddled around the stove all winter. That gets old too.
Yes Ralphie it is muddy.....Jebus! But....a buddy called and was low on wood going into this cold weather. Away we went....took the 3 of us 45 minutes.
You're a good man Brandon Scott! Your good deeds will come back to you 10 fold. Don't forget if I can help you just text me, I usually available and only a couple miles away.
Up to a foot of snow on the worst end, 5" at the least tomorrow, with 15-20 mph winds gusting at 30 mph. Single digits without windchill, then Tuesday's prediction is snow turning to rain at 37 degrees F!
Blasted mud only keeps getting worse here in northern Kentucky. I tried to go out yesterday after work to haul some dead ash rounds I had cut and the quad was just wanting to sink. I’m so sick of all this mud makes my daily job a royal pain being in plumbing excavation. If it doesn’t freeze up soon I’m going to have to buy wood because I got behind this year and have be having to cut standing dead ash and locust whenever I can get in the woods.
